چکیده

| October 2014 | 1018 cells in the matrigel plug (local administration) is not suitable for statically. If the leptin levels were measured before and after matrigel administration, it should have been more meaningful. Because 10-day application of matrigel plug with leptin can’t affect the systemic leptin results. In addition, as shown in recent studies, high fat diet-induced obesity causes increasing in leptin levels.[5]

Ghrelin does not modulate angiogenesis in matrigel plug in normal and diet-induced obese mice

BACKGROUND The reciprocal interaction between adipocytes and angiogenesis is considered as an essential component in the development and expansion of adipose tissue. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of ghrelin on angiogenic response using in vivo angiogenesis assay of matrigel plug and its correlation with serum leptin levels in normal and diet-induced obese mice. MATERIALS AN...

The 15(S)-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid-induced angiogenesis requires Janus kinase 2-signal transducer and activator of transcription-5B-dependent expression of interleukin-8.

To understand the molecular basis underlying 15(S)-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (15(S)-HETE)-induced angiogenesis, we have studied the role of the Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription (Jak-STAT) signaling. The 15(S)-HETE stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation of Jak2 in a time-dependent manner in human retinal microvascular endothelial cells (HRMVECs). Inhibition of Jak2 a...

High mobility group box 1 complexed with heparin induced angiogenesis in a matrigel plug assay.

Angiogenesis involves complex processes mediated by several factors and is associated with inflammation and wound healing. High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) is released from necrotic cells as well as macrophages and plays proinflammatory roles. In the present study, we examined whether HMGB1 would exhibit angiogenic activity in a matrigel plug assay in mice. HMGB1 in combination with heparin st...

Ascorbate inhibition of angiogenesis in aortic rings ex vivo and subcutaneous Matrigel plugs in vivo

BACKGROUND Angiogenesis is critical to tumor growth and is therefore a potential target for cancer therapy. As many current inhibitors of angiogenesis exhibit host toxicity, natural alternatives are needed. At millimolar concentrations, ascorbate (vitamin C) inhibits migration and tubule formation by mature endothelial cells and endothelial progenitors. In the present study, we examined the eff...

Monitoring functionality and morphology of vasculature recruited by factors secreted by fast-growing tumor-generating cells.

The subcutaneous matrigel plug assay in mice is a method of choice for the in vivo evaluation of pro- and anti-angiogenic factors. In this method, desired factors are introduced into cold-liquid ECM-mimic gel which, after subcutaneous injection, solidifies to form an environment mimicking the cancer milieu. This matrix permits the penetration of host cells, such as endothelial cells, and theref...
